What is multi-factor authentication (MFA)?

Security is one of the biggest challenges facing online services. We are determined to provide the most secure service to our clients. One such service is MFA, which is an optional layer of security to reduce the potential risk of others accessing your account. There is no cost involved in adding MFA. All you need to do is generate temporary personal codes.

What are the levels of MFA for an accounting firm?

There are 3 levels of MFA for accountancy firms:

  • Upon request: MFA is not managed at the accounting firm level but at the configuration level for a user. In other words, MFA is set up individually for a user.
  • Suggested: the logged-in user will have the choice of whether or not to configure MFA on their account. Connection to applications will still be possible if the MFA is not configured.
  • Mandatory: the logged-in user must configure the MFA. As long as the user has not configured the MFA, connection to applications will be blocked.

The MFA level is defined by user type:

  • Practitioners
  • Administrator clients and standard clients
  • Employees of the accounting firm's clients
